Deputy Defense Min Davakis: ‘ANZAC Day reminds us of the values Australians, New Zealanders, and Greeks share’

Athens-Greece.- ANZAC Day remind us of the values shared by the peoples of Greece, Australia, and New Zealand and the struggles we fought togeether for freedom, peace, human dignity, and democracy, said National Defense Deputy Minister Thanassis Davakis at the Faleron War Cemetery for soldiers of the Commonwealth on Friday.
Davakis attended the annual memorial service for ANZAC Day as a representative of Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis.
“I had the honor of attending the memorial service for ANZAC Day at the Allied Military Cemetery of Faliro, for a day honoring and commemorating the fallen Australians and New Zealanders who sacrificed themselves in wars, battles, and peaceful missions,” Davakis said at the conclusion of the service.
“The memory of the ANZAC sacrifice cannot be forgotten, it remains alive to teach us the importance of peaceful coexistence and constant vigilance against every threat,” he underlined.
