Στο πένθος βυθίστηκε το 102 Συνέδριο της ΑΗΕΡΑ από το θάνατο του πρώην Ύπατου Προέδρου της Φίλιππου Φράγκου

Στο πένθος βύθισε την οικογένεια της ΑΗΕΡΑ ο απροσδόκητος θάνατος, το πρωι του Σαββάτου πριν από λίγο, στην Κύπρο του πρώην Ύπατου Προέδρου της Οργάνωσης Φίλιπ Φράγκος  (1940)- (Phillip T. Frangos).

Ο εκλιπών είχε εκλεγεί Ύπατος Πρόεδρος της ΑΗΕΡΑ το 2014, at Supreme Convention in New Orleans (2014-2015).  Ευρίσκετο στην Κύπρο συμμετέχοντας στο 102 Συνέδριο της ΑΗΕΡΑ το οποίο για πρώτη φορά φέτος έγινε στη Μεγαλόνησο.

Οι εργασίες του Συνεδρίου ολοκληρώθηκαν χθες Παρασκευή και οι Σύνεδροι Μέλη της ΑΗΕΡΑ  είχαν αρχίσει ήδη να αποχωρούν από την Κύπρο επιστρέφοντας στη βάση τους.

Σύμφωνα με δημοσιογραφικές πληροφορίες ο εκλιπών είχε λάβει πρωϊνό. Λίγο μετά ένιωσε δυσφορία και επέστρεψε στο δωμάτιό του όπου και μετ΄ολίγον κατέληξε.

District 3 joins the entire Order of AHEPA family in mourning the loss of Past Supreme President Phillip Frangos. We are eternally grateful for his leadership, his contributions to Hellenism and we are proud to be led by a Supreme Lodge which includes his son Themis – who has carried and will continue to carry his father’s incredible legacy with pride and distinction. May Brother Frangos’ Memory be eternal ????

PHILLIP THEMISTOCLES FRANGOS

Biography

Phillip Themistocles Frangos was elected Supreme President of the Order of AHEPA at the organization’s 2014 Supreme Convention in New Orleans, Louisiana, July 21-26, 2014. His most recent service to AHEPA was as Supreme Secretary (2011-2013) and Supreme Vice President (2013-2014). During these three years Frangos undertook over 200 chapter visitations and meetings in 22 districts of the AHEPA domain.

Frangos is licensed as an attorney in Michigan. He is a former Chief Deputy Secretary of State and CEO of the Michigan Department of State, an agency of 2,500 employees, having oversight of 200 offices and 10 museums. In this capacity Frangos also served as Executive Secretary to the Michigan Historical Foundation, a body comprised of chairmen and presidents of major Michigan corporations including Kellogg’s and Upjohn, convened to raise $5 million for completion and endowment of the Michigan Historical Center.

Frangos has been married for 35 years to Tula (formerly Kackos) of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where they met at an AHEPA dance. They are the parents of Themistocles Frangos, who received his degree in Engineering from the University of Michigan and his J.D. from Loyola of Chicago. He is practicing law in Chicago and reactivated a dormant chapter which he is serving as president. Themistocles is also the secretary of the District 13 lodge. Their daughter, Maria, holds a B.A. degree in Business from the University of Michigan and a Master’s degree in Hospitality Management from Michigan State University. She resides in Charlotte, North Carolina, where she just completed courses at Johnson-Wales Culinary Institute.
