Debate on 2024 state budget continues in parliament plenary

Αthens, Greece.- Debate on the draft 2024 state budget continued for a second day in the Greek parliament’s plenary on Thursday.

The ruling majority focused on fiscal stability, the economy’s development prospects, and social cohesion, while the opposition accused the government of machinations, supporting big interests, and completely destroying vulnerable social groups.

Several ministers – including those of education, interior, justice, tourism, and e-governance – as well as deputy ministers were on the roster of speakers for the day.

The debate will wrap up on Sunday with the addresses of the prime minister and those of the leaders of parties/parliamentary groups, followed by a roll-call vote, which traditionally counts as a vote of confidence in the government.
