Nine Pylos shipwreck survivors arrested on Thursday for fatal vessel sinking

Nine Egyptian nationals were arrested by Kalamata port authorities and the Hellenic Coast Guard for allegedly being the human traffickers behind the fatal Pylos shipwreck incident, it was reported late Thursday evening.

The arrestees are facing charges of forming a criminal organization and illegal trafficking of migrants. All 9 were among the 104 rescued. The shipwreck death toll stands at 78.
