Acropolis Museum participating in ‘Green Cultural Routes’ action this weekend

On the weekend of May 27-28, the Acropolis Museum is to take part in the nationwide anniversary action “Greek Cultural Routes” organised by the culture and sports ministry, with four presentations on “Walking in the ancient neighbourhood of the Acropolis Museum”.
With museum archaeologists as a guide, visitors will be able to wander through the archaeological excavation that lies at the base of the building and carry out a magical journey through time, learning about the history and daily lives of the people that lived in the shadow of the Acropolis for more than 4,500 years.
The presentations, in Greek and in English, will last one hour and are available free of charge, with up to 20 people per presentation. In order to participate, an electronic booking is required at events.theacropolismuseum.gr
The presentations in English will be held at 11:00 on Saturday and 10:30 on Sunday, while those in Greek will take place at 13:00 on Saturday and 21:30 on Sunday.
The event is one of a host of activities being organised throughout the country between May 25 and May 28, with free admission, for the “Greek Cultural Routes” action, which was designed as a means of educating the public in matters relating to the protection of the country’s cultural heritage and natural environment and promoting sustainable growth.
It now includes events that include presentations, educational programmes, thematic tours, rambles, walks, cycling routes and artistic events.
