PM Mitsotakis slams top opposition party leaders in Thessaloniki speech
Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis slammed the leaders of the top opposition parties during a speech in Thessaloniki’s Palais des Sports arena on Thursday evening.
SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance failed when it ruled, but it also failed as an opposition party, Mitsotakis underlined: main opposition leader Alexis Tsipras keeps repeating his pre-electoral maxim ‘justice everywhere’, while “he keeps fellow politician Nikos Pappas – who was (unanimously) convicted in the special court – as a close associate.”
But PASOK-Kinal leader Nikos Androulakis is not much better, said the New Democracy leader, for “rejecting as prime minister the person Greek voters choose,” and expecting to propose one himself, refusing to reveal who that would be.
Pasok voters “must surely feel that their lives improved since 2019,” refusing to believe what Syriza says, thus refusing to become crutches to the person who used to be their ruthless pursuer, Mitsotakis said, referring to a potential coalition between Syriza and Pasok.
