Greece’s growth trajectory must continue uninterrupted after the national elections, PM Mitsotakis tells people in Koukaki

The May 21 ballot “is the one that will determine everything,’ Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis told local residents during his visit to the area of Koukaki, in Athens, on Saturday.

It is this ballot, he insisted, which “will send a strong message: that the country will not be turning back, and that all we accomplished through several hardships over the last four years will not be undermined, and the country’s growth trajectory will continue uninterrupted.”

People “remember very well indeed,” he added, “where Greece stood in 2015, in 2019 and now, in 2023.”

Speaking at a public spot in the broader area of the Acropolis foothills, where most of Koukaki is located, Mitsotakis noted that the tourism season in Greece this year is going to be an excellent one, “the result of hard work.”

Again, the upcoming national elections are highly critical, he reiterated, as the “simple proportional representation system is a recipe for non-governance,” underlining that stability and efficiency are currently the most important priorities.
