PM Mitsotakis: We are the only ones who can lead Greece to a future it deserves

New Democracy faced several crises in its four years in power, Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis said in Lamia, central Greece, on Monday evening, but delivered on its basic promises.

In a party event during his tour of the region, Mitsotakis reviewed his government’s four years in office and its achievements, and outlined the basic goals for the next four years. He spoke in detail about the crises the government faced, and underlined that ND is the only party that can guarantee a better future with necessary reforms in Greece.

Despite all the crises ND faced, it kept its basic promises to the Greek people, he reiterated: “No government from the end of the junta on had to face in its rule most of the externally caused crises than our government did. Mitsotakis said that the party was heading to elections with very clear goals and lessons of maturity. “We did not hide behind our mistakes,” he underlined.

The premier also attacked main opposition SYRIZA for the managerial ability of its former ministers, mentioning them by name: “What will the main opposition tell us now? That Mr. Spirtzis will fix the trains? Mr. Katrougalso will fix the pensions? Mr. Filis will fix education?” Syriza, which voted against buying armaments cannot defend the country from foreign threats, or protect its borders, he added.

Referring to the two round of elections, each of which will be held under a different election system, he said that Syriza established simple representation to create uncertainty, but the Greek people will select stability in the end.
