Man found dead in vehicle transporting undocumented migrants

A man was found dead in a vehicle that was being used to transport undocumented migrants and had overturned, in so far unspecified circumstances, on the Alexandroupolis-Komotini section of the Egnatia Highway.

Specifically, police officers on Sunday morning found a fatally injured person inside the car and 15 other migrants outside the car, three of whom were injured and taken to the Alexandroupolis hospital.

The driver is being sought by the authorities, while the vehicle has been confiscated.

A preliminary investigation is being conducted by the Border Police at Tyheros, Alexandroupolis.
