14-year-old Rafaellla Kopellou wins four medals at NSW Swimming Championships

Greek Australian Rafaella Kopellou has won four medals at the NSW Swimming Championships for 14-year-old girls.

Her remarkable efforts secured her the first place and an extraordinary time at the Sydney final recording 2.17,96′ for 200 metres butterfly, a slashing personal best time.

Rafaela swam an extremely tough program across six days of competition showing a lot of grit. The young champion took on the grueling task of the 200 butterfly on day Two along with the 1500 freestyle.

Her love for swimming and devotion to the sport keeps her away from several pleasures and pastime activities youths her age experience but she remains focused to her goal.

Since 2012 when she migrated to Australia with her parents Theodore and Lynne, Rafaella has seen nothing but steady progress and accomplishments when it comes to swimming.

Aside from the gold she got in 200 metre butterfly she has also ranked second in 100 metre butterfly, second in 800 metre freestyle, third in 400 metre mixed, fourth place in 400 metre freestyle, fourth place in 1500 metre freestyle and fifth place in 200 metre freestyle.

Last weekend she also ranked third at the 5 kilometre Open Sea Swimming Championship.
