Art persists in a time of pandemic from Greek-Australians

The latest personal exhibition of the work of Melbourne artist Nikos Soukakis will be on display online on Monday, 1 February.

The work will be on view through a page dedicated to the Nikos Soulakis on the Anagnostis e-magazine.

Mr Soukakis was born in Stafanina, Thessaloniki in Greece in 1943. From an early age he was influenced by folk and Byzantine art.

In 1966, he emigrated to Australia. He studied at the Art Training Institute in Melbourne from 1971 to 1973. His work has featured in numerous personal and group exhibitions in the city.

Since 1990 he has worked on the set designs of 17 stage productions at the Parikia Theatre and he has illustrated books, periodicals and magazines in Australia, Cyprus and Greece.
