Το 18ο Παγκόσμιο Συνέδριο Αποδήμων Κυπρίων στη Λευκωσία (ENG)
Από τις 25 έως και τις 27 Αυγούστου πραγματοποιείται στο Συνεδριακό Κέντρο Φιλοξενία στη Λευκωσία, το 18ο Παγκόσμιο Συνέδριο Αποδήμων Κυπρίων (ΠΟΜΑΚ-ΠΣΕΚΑ).Το συνέδριο αναμένεται με ιδιαίτερο ενδιαφέρον από τους απόδημους λόγω και των τελευταίων εξελίξεων στο Κυπριακό.
‘Όπως πληροφορείται το ΚΥΠΕ, τις εργασίες του συνεδρίου θα κηρύξει αργά το απόγευμα της 25ης Αυγούστου ο Πρόεδρος της Δημοκρατίας Νίκος Αναστασιάδης, ο οποίος την επομένη αναμένεται να ενημερώσει το Κεντρικό Συμβούλιο των Αποδήμων σε συνεδρίαση στο Προεδρικό Μέγαρο.
Όλοι οι σύνεδροι από όλες τις παροικίες του εξωτερικού (Αγγλία, ΗΠΑ, Αυστραλία, Καναδά, Ελλάδα, Νότιο Αφρική και αλλού) θα ενημερωθούν επίσης σε κλειστή συνεδρία για τις τελευταίες εξελίξεις στις συνομιλίες, τα νέα δεδομένα στο θέμα των υδρογονανθράκων αλλά και την οικονομία.
Χαιρετισμούς αναμένεται να απευθύνουν στο τριήμερο συνέδριο, εκτός από μέλη της Κυβέρνησης, ο Πρόεδρος της Βουλής, αρχηγοί ή εκπρόσωποι κομμάτων και άλλοι.

The 18th World Conference of the Council of the World Federation of Overseas Cypriots (POMAK) and the International Coordinating Committee “Justice for Cyprus” (PSEKA) continued today at the “Filoxenia” Conference Center, in Nicosia, with the presentation of the report of the outgoing year by the President of POMAK, Mr Andreas Papaevripides. During the meeting of the Central Council, the actions of the Federations were presented, as well as ways for further cooperation. The overseas organizations had the opportunity to present their actions in their countries of residence and to submit suggestions for the better coordination of their actions on issues such as the enlightenment for the Cyprus problem, the economic crisis and issues of expatriates. At the same time, the members of NEPOMAK attended a workshop hosted by CYTA, on “The Role of New Technologies to Rally and Connect Overseas Cypriots”. Ways were analysed, with which the use of new technologies can bring expatriates closer to their roots, raise awareness about the Cyprus problem and enable the younger generation to network and build connections with Cypriots in Cyprus and around the world.
