Niki Gonideli went to meet the Lord

Gonideli, Niki ESCONDIDO — Niki Gonideli went to meet the Lord on November 23, 2014. She was born in Athens, Greece on April 24, 1940. Her father, Emmanuel Gonideli, worked at the American Embassy in Athens. Her mother, Katherine, was a homemaker. Niki married and came to the US in 1962 living in a variety of locations before returning to Greece in 1969. She worked at the American Embassy in Athens until she returned to the US in 1981 and ultimately settled down near her two children, James and Cheryl, in 1994. Niki made her permanent residence in Escondido. She worked for the VA being a certified caregiver for disabled American Veterans until she retired in 2004. She was active in the Escondido ELK’s Lodge and regularly attended church at Mission Hills and Emmanuel Faith. She is survived by her son, James; daughter, Cheryl; and six grand- children, Melissa, Briana, Nicholas, Catherine, Jamie and Christian. She has one great-grand- daughter, Payton. She was known by many and loved by all. A brunch will be held at the Escondido ELK’s Lodge located at 2430 S. Escondido Blvd., Escondido, CA on December 7.
